Ode To Trap Music

To be honest I don't really know what 'ode' means but it sounds nice, so I'm just gonna go with it...I mean I Googled it, but it doesn't mean what I want it to mean, but...I'm still gonna go with it. I'm just not a poem writer.#shrug

Now two of my favorite rappers are Gucci Mane & Kevin Gates. People love to to criticize my genuine love for their music and ask why do I like them.

Shit! Sometimes you just need to feel like you Pablo Escabar, out here getting money, and proving the haters wrong. I'm mean damn, real life stressful enough can I be a real niggah in my music.

But in all seriousness, their talents are so underrated. And not just them, but several rappers that make trap music.

I remember when I didnt like Lil Boosie, but then I listened to what he was saying and fell in love. I feel like their music gets mislabeled because not to many people have the ability to view things from several different perspectives.

Let me explain...whenever I'm having a bad work day my go to song I promise you is Kevin Gates 'Arm & Hammer'.

Box of soda, red and gold (red & gold)

Mannn, I start thinking I'm really out here trapping.

That shit gets me so hype. Now mind you, I don't know anything about any of that. I grew up in the hood, but my mama didn't play that. I'm a super lame. But it's their stories that I'm most in love with.

When people judge those artist it genuinely upsets me. Now I can understand not liking something cause it's just not your thing. I mean I don't do techno. I have no rhythm, so in my mind we don't like each other. I'm talking those who write it off simply because...

Kevin Gates, Gucci Mane, and Lil Boosie are 3 of my faves so I'm gonna use them specifically.

They didn't let what they didn't have determine their success in life. They discovered their talents, mastered their talents, and share how with the public.

Now I'm not saying, and their not saying go sell dope. You have to take their stories, look at it from your own perspective and apply it to life...i.e...don't let life beat you and go for yours.

At least that's what I hear when I listen to them. Encouragements & motivation.

But all that to say... if you take the time to listen to their music, I mean really listen and see the pictures that they paint with their lyrics. The stories they tell with details so vivid that you legit forget that you working a 9-5 cause you didn't have the same balls as them to chase your dreams, and imaging for a minute that you're a BOSS!! 😎

Some people may get it. Idk, that's just my opinion tho.
