Before your favorite fly girl ever touched a mic or stepped out in a Dapper Dan original, there was Finesse & Synquis. Hailing from Staten Island, the rap duo released Soul Sisters in 1988. The project blended beats, bars, and bold fashion at a time when Hip-Hop was still finding its rhythm.

Tracks like “Fatal Beauty” and “Strictly For Business” are bold, energetic declaration of confidence, lyrical skill, and ambition. But what truly sets them apart is Finesse & Synquis’ undeniable chemistry and razor-sharp timing. Track after track, the duo asserts their dominance with precision-cut verses and crowd-moving confidence, their distinct voices complementing each other in perfect sync—demonstrating cohesion, clarity, and control.

Unfortunately, just as you find yourself getting into the groove, the project ends—leaving Soul Sisters feeling more like a bold introduction than a full chapter. But sometimes, an introduction is all it takes. While Finesse & Synquis’ time in the spotlight may have been brief, the energy, chemistry, and confidence they brought to the mic serve as a lasting reminder that even a short run can leave a lasting impact.
